Getting Started

What is the Arc4Health?

The Arc4Health is a home-use microcurrent therapy device designed to support pain management, tissue repair, and general wellbeing. It delivers a subsensory microcurrent, meaning most users do not feel the electrical current during treatment.

How does the Arc4Health work?

The Arc4Health delivers low-level microcurrent therapy, which works at a cellular level to support the body’s natural healing processes. Unlike TENS therapy, which primarily masks pain by stimulating nerves, microcurrent therapy aims to support tissue repair and help address underlying inflammation.

What is the difference between the Arc4Health and a TENS machine?

Although both are forms of electrotherapy, they work very differently.

A TENS machine uses a stronger electrical current to stimulate nerves and provide temporary pain relief. The Arc4Health uses a much lower, subsensory microcurrent designed to support the body’s natural healing processes and tissue repair. Most users do not feel anything during treatment.

Safety and Suitability

Who can use the Arc4Health?

The Arc4Health is suitable for most adults. However, there are certain situations where you should consult your doctor or healthcare professional before use.

Who should not use the Arc4Health?

Consult your doctor or healthcare professional before using the Arc4Health if:

  • You are pregnant.
  • You have suspected or diagnosed cancer.
  • You have epilepsy.
  • You have heart rhythm disorders or heart disease.
  • You have an implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker or defibrillator.
  • You have a latex or rubber allergy, as some components may contain these materials.

Can children use the Arc4Health?

No. The Arc4Health is intended for adult use and should not be used by babies, infants, or young children.

Can I use the Arc4Health if I have recently had surgery?

Absolutely, follow the guidance in the user manual, we would suggest using it as soon as possible after the surgery where appropriate.

Can I use the Arc4Health on broken skin or open wounds?

No. The Arc4Health should not be used directly over open wounds, broken skin or areas of skin irritation. As it has an effect on the whole body, it does not need to be worn near the site of injury.

Do I need to speak to my doctor before using the Arc4Health?

Microcurrent therapy is safe, non-invasive and drug-free. However, if you have any medical concerns, existing health conditions, or are under the care of a healthcare professional, we recommend speaking with them before using the Arc4Health.

The Arc4Health should always be used alongside- not instead of- medical advice, prescribed treatments or medications.

Should I stop taking my medication if I use the Arc4Health?

No. Continue taking any prescribed medication unless advised otherwise by your healthcare professional.

Is the Arc4Health safe?

Yes. The Arc4Health underwent regulatory approval for pain management and tissue repair before its launch in 2016. Microcurrent therapy has an established safety profile and is widely recognised as a safe, non-invasive treatment option when used as directed.

Are there any side effects?

Microcurrent therapy may have a mild dehydrating effect, so we recommend drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated while using the device.

Evidence and Effectiveness

Is there scientific evidence that microcurrent therapy works?

Yes. Microcurrent therapy has been studied for decades across a wide range of medical and veterinary applications. Numerous peer-reviewed studies, reviews and case reports support its safety and effectiveness for various therapeutic uses.

How long does it take to see results?

Every person responds differently, so no specific timeframe can be guaranteed.

Many users notice improvements within the first 6–8 weeks of regular use, while some report benefits much sooner. The Arc4Health is designed as a long-term, drug-free therapy to support healing, pain management and overall wellbeing rather than as an overnight solution.

Using the Arc4Health

Will I feel anything during treatment?

No. The Arc4Health uses subsensory microcurrent, so most users do not feel any sensation during treatment. This is completely normal and does not mean the device is not working.

Where should I wear the Arc4Health?

The Arc4Health works systemically at a cellular level, so it does not need to be placed directly over the area you wish to treat.

As long as the pads maintain good contact with the skin, the device can typically be worn comfortably on either the upper arm or lower leg using the supplied strap.

How often should I use the Arc4Health?

For best results, we recommend following one of the initial treatment protocols outlined in the user manual and using the device daily where possible for at least six weeks.

After completing the initial protocol, frequency of use depends on your individual needs. For general health and wellbeing, we recommend using the Arc4Health at least two days each month, although many users continue to use it regularly or daily.

How long is each treatment session?

The Arc4Health offers two treatment cycles for each programme:

  • 3-hour programme
  • 7-hour programme

Can I wear the Arc4Health overnight?

Yes. The 7-hour programme is suitable for overnight use, allowing treatment while you sleep. Always follow the instructions provided in the user manual.

Do I need any training to use the Arc4Health?

No. The Arc4Health has been designed specifically for home use and comes complete with full instructions in the user manual. Our support team are here should you ever have any questions on use.

Battery, Maintenance and Accessories

Is the Arc4Health rechargeable?

Yes. The Arc4Health contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

A full charge provides approximately 30 hours of treatment. Regular use and charging also help maximise battery life.

  • Self-adhesive conductive pads
  • Conductive gel
  • Carbon rubber pads
  • Strap
  • Liner

How do I clean the carbon rubber pads?

Clean the contact surface using a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Allow the pads to dry completely before using them again.

Yes. The Arc4Health delivery unit includes a standard two-year manufacturer’s warranty covering manufacturing defects.

Getting Started

Which programme should I use?

The Arc4Health has four treatment programmes, each designed to support different therapeutic goals.

Your user manual includes three recommended treatment protocols for:

  • General Health
  • Injuries
  • Inflammation

We recommend following the protocol that best matches your needs. If you’re unsure which programme is most appropriate, please contact our customer service team, who will be happy to advise.

How often should I use the Arc4Health?

For best results, we recommend following the treatment protocol in your user manual and using the Arc4Health consistently.

Daily use is recommended during your initial programme. Once you’ve completed your chosen protocol, you can adjust your frequency of use according to your individual needs, for some this is continuing to use daily. We recommend using at least twice a month to help maintain the benefits, and also extend the life of the battery.

What happens if I miss a day?

Don’t worry – there is no need to start your protocol again.

Simply continue from the programme and day you last completed and continue until you’ve completed the recommended duration.

Consistency is important, and using the Arc4Health regularly will help you achieve the best possible results.

Wearing the Arc4Health

I can’t attach the strap to the affected area. Does it matter?

No.

The Arc4Health works systemically at a cellular level, so it does not need to be worn directly over the area you are trying to support.

As long as the pads maintain good contact with your skin, the device can usually be worn comfortably on either:

  • the upper arm, or
  • the lower leg.

Choose whichever location is most comfortable and practical.

The strap doesn’t fit my arm. What should I do?

The Arc4Health does not need to be worn on your arm.

If the supplied strap doesn’t fit comfortably around your upper arm or lower leg, you may wear it higher on your leg if this is more suitable.

We also offer an extension strap, which increases the reach of the fastening, or can wrap over the delivery unit to shorten the strap and provides a more comfortable fit for some users.

Can I wear the Arc4Health overnight?

Yes. The 7-hour programme is designed so that it can be worn comfortably while you sleep. Always ensure the strap is fitted securely but not too tightly.

During Treatment

Should I feel anything during treatment?

No.

The Arc4Health delivers subsensory microcurrent therapy, meaning most users do not feel any sensation while the programme is running.

This is completely normal and does not mean the device is not working. The green light indicated the device is working as it should.

What happens if my symptoms temporarily increase?

Although uncommon, some users experience a temporary increase in symptoms during the first few days or weeks of treatment.

This is usually short-lived and may occur before improvement is noticed.

If you experience any unexpected or concerning reaction, stop using the Arc4Health and contact our customer service team or your healthcare professional for advice.

Skin Care and Sensitivity

My skin has become irritated. What should I do?

Skin sensitivity is uncommon, but it can occasionally occur.

To help reduce the likelihood of irritation:

  • Do not overtighten the strap.
  • Use only enough pressure to maintain good contact.
  • Remove the strap promptly once the programme has finished.
  • Rotate between your left and right arm or leg each time you use the Arc4Health.
  • Never use the Arc4Health over broken skin, open wounds or irritated areas.
  • Keep the pads clean between treatments.

If irritation develops, discontinue use and contact our customer service team for advice.

Could I be reacting to the conductive gel?

The conductive gel supplied with the Arc4Health is water-soluble, hypoallergenic and free from propylene glycol.

Although reactions are uncommon, some people may still be sensitive to one or more ingredients.

If you experience a reaction:

  • Wash the gel from the affected area.
  • Stop using the gel.
  • Contact our customer service team for advice.

Could I be allergic to the self-adhesive conductive pads?

A small number of people may react to the adhesive used on the conductive pads.

If this happens, discontinue using the adhesive pads. Many customers instead use the reusable carbon rubber pads together with conductive gel.

Could I be allergic to the carbon rubber pads?

The carbon rubber pads contain silicone.

If you know you have a silicone allergy or experience a reaction while using them, discontinue use and use the self-adhesive conductive pads instead.

Connections and Troubleshooting

I’m finding it difficult to establish a connection. What should I do?

Please allow a few seconds for the Arc4Health to establish a connection, as this is not always immediate.

If you’re still experiencing problems, check the following:

  • Make sure your delivery unit is charged.
  • If using the carbon rubber pads, apply sufficient conductive gel.
  • If using the self-adhesive pads, ensure they are firmly attached.
  • Try repositioning the strap on your upper arm or lower leg.
  • Avoid overtightening the strap.
  • Check that the lead is fully inserted into the bottom of the delivery unit.

My Arc4Health switches off after a couple of minutes. Why?

This usually happens because the treatment programme has not been started.

After selecting your programme, remember to press the right-hand Play button to begin treatment.

If a programme is not started, the Arc4Health automatically switches off after a short period to conserve battery power.

My Arc4Health doesn’t seem to be working. What should I check?

Before contacting support, please check:

  • The battery is sufficiently charged.
  • The treatment programme has been started correctly.
  • The strap is making good contact with the skin.
  • The lead is securely connected.
  • The pads are clean and in good condition.

If you’re still experiencing problems, please contact our customer service team.

Charging and Battery

How long does the Arc4Health take to charge?

Before first use, fully charge the Arc4Health.

Charging takes approximately four hours.

The charging indicator will change from flashing amber to flashing green once charging is complete.

A full charge provides approximately 30 hours of treatment.

Do I need to replace the battery?

No.

The Arc4Health uses a sealed rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is not user-replaceable.

If the battery develops a fault within the two-year manufacturer’s warranty period, the delivery unit will be replaced under warranty.

If your delivery unit reaches the end of its service life after the warranty has expired, we offer an upgrade and trade-in discount for existing customers.

To maximise battery life, we recommend using and charging the Arc4Health regularly rather than leaving it unused for extended periods.

Caring for Your Arc4Health

Can I wash the strap?

No.

The strap contains electrical components and must not be submerged in water.

Instead, wipe both sides with a clean, damp cloth.

For improved hygiene, use the washable strap liner supplied with your kit. Replacement liners are available separately.

How do I care for the self-adhesive conductive pads?

After each use:

  • Replace the pads onto their original plastic backing.
  • Store them in a clean, dry place.
  • Always apply them to clean, dry skin.

With daily use, they typically remain effective for up to two weeks before replacement is required.

How do I clean the carbon rubber pads?

Clean only the contact surface using a soft cloth and mild soapy water.

Rinse away any soap residue and allow the pads to dry completely before reattaching them to the strap.

When should I replace my pads or gel?

The self-adhesive pads, conductive gel and carbon rubber pads are consumable items and will naturally wear over time.

Replacement accessories are available from our online shop.
