Return to Case Studies

I fell from my horse in April 2017. I fractured my femur and ruptured my ACL, amongst other tissue damage. When the femur had healed, I had a knee reconstruction operation at Christmas. I suffer from psoriatic arthritis and have an old Achilles tendon injury exacerbated by my accident.
In May I was in considerable pain when walking, from my Achilles, knee and arthritis all combining. I bought the Arc at Badminton horse trials, willing to give anything a go!

Within 3 weeks I was noticing considerable benefit. Wearing it at night, following a programme set for me at the horse trials by the lady on the stall, I found mornings were easier, less stiff and I could walk further pain free. As the pain lessened I could push my rehab a bit further. Under the supervision of a physiotherapist, I was following a rehab programme that intensifies gradually. I was able to engage with this more fully because I was pain free. I still wear the Arc at night, and I am not fully recovered, but in a much better place physically and mentally because of it.

The Achilles problem is less of an issue, the knee feels great and I have less arthritic flare ups.
