The ArcEquine and the Arc4Health are cutting-edge, wearable medical devices that utilises microcurrent therapy – a well-researched type of electrotherapy dating back to the 1970s. This drug-free, non-invasive therapy is known to have dual benefits: reducing pain, swelling, and inflammation, while promoting tissue repair.
What sets the ARC devices apart is our transformation of traditional, bulky equipment into a small, wearable device perfect for use in a yard/home setting. Equestrians have successfully used ArcEquine to manage a variety of conditions, including laminitis, mud fever, summer allergies, navicular disease, and arthritic changes — all of which involve inflammatory responses. Additionally, ArcEquine excels in promoting healing and supporting the recovery of soft tissue injuries such as tendon and ligament damage, delivering faster recovery times and improved quality of healing. Our sister product, the Arc4Health, is a regulated Class IIa medical device certified for pain management and tissue repair. Since its launch in 2016, the Arc4Health has effectively managed symptoms of chronic conditions like chronic fatigue, MCAS, long-COVID, fibromyalgia, and MS, all characterised by underlying inflammation. Our research has shown statistically significant reductions in the severity of long-COVID symptoms, including chronic fatigue (p < 0.001), breathlessness (p < 0.01), and altered taste and smell (p < 0.05).
The Science behind microcurrent therapy
Microcurrent therapy has a broad anti-inflammatory effect, downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-a, IL-6, IL-1b, TGF-b1) and upregulating anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10). This therapy addresses the inflammation that underpins many clinical conditions, offering a scientifically validated approach to both equine and human health.
