After a general deterioration in performance which then turned to lameness we took Will to liphook at the beginning of the year. He was diagnosed with kissing spine and stifle issues. We medicated the stifles which seemed to work for a bit but when we went back for his check up he was lame again. It was suggested that key hole surgery was the only way to identify what was really going on in the joint which I was reluctant to put him through.
After much thought, I decided that we’d just retire him and keep him happy but within weeks he was showing discomfort behind when being shod or even having his feet picked out so I started to wonder whether surgery was in fact our only option.
I then came across Arc Equine and haven’t looked back. We hired a unit and within 2 weeks he was back to his normal self for the farrier and completely comfortable having his feet picked out. He’s moving brilliantly and just looks a picture of health. I never thought I’d be able to ride him again and whilst I’m sure his competing days are over, we’re back to hacking a few times a week and it means the world to me (and he’s pretty happy about it too!)
All thanks to Arc Equine xxx
