I suffered a dog bite to the base of my hand separating our family dogs, resulting in nerve damage as well as the wounds. The consequence was that I lost use of my index finger and middle finger in the damaged hand, along with a lack of any feeling in them.

I had treatment by physio etc for six to eight months to try and recover the situation but there was no progress. There was talk of possible surgery to try and make an improvement, but in all honesty it did not seem promising, and I was advised I may have lost use of my fingers for life. This is dark news when you are only in your late 20’s. It was also a particular problem for me as my passion is racing cars, and with my hand compromised to this extent I could not properly steer or change gear, so my racing had come to an end.

A friend who had a microcurrent unit had heard of possible benefits from its use in regeneration of damaged nerves, and although no definite gain could be promised there was absolutely no negative side effects to trying. Thus I took him up on his offer of the loan of his unit.

I used the unit daily, morning and evening, and after 5 to 6 weeks I am delighted to say I have regained full use of the damaged fingers. Looking back it seems difficult to understand such a dramatic change in so little time compared to no change over the previous months.

I will be eternally grateful for the microcurrent unit, as it has made such a massive change to my life.
