August – Scone or Scone?

A Canter Through Scone Palace Horse Trials… What to Expect This August
As we take on August at full speed, all eyes turn to one of Scotland’s most anticipated equestrian events of the summer, the inaugural Scone Palace International Horse Trials, running from 21–24 August 2025 in the stunning parklands of Scone Palace and Perth Racecourse. At ArcEquine, we couldn’t be more excited to be joining the action, so here’s everything you need to know (and why we’ll be there too).

A Royal Venue Reborn
Scone Palace isn’t just another beautiful backdrop, it’s a piece of Scotland’s heritage. Built in the Gothic Revival era and historically the coronation site for Scottish kings, its rich past adds gravitas to the event. Now, paired with the purpose-built equestrian infrastructure of Perth Racecourse, the venue is primed to deliver world-class horse trials.

What’s On Over Four Thrilling Days
● International Eventing (CCI4-L)* – Dressage, cross-country, and showjumping from elite competitors.
● British Eventing and Grassroots Levels – Classes ranging from BE90 for emerging riders to CCI4*L for top-tier athletes.
● Pony Club Mounted Games, Native Breed Showing, Retrained Racehorses, Hunter Show and NPS Scotland Finals.
● Plus, Show Jumping, artisan stalls, live music, food and drink options, and kids’ activities make this more than a competition, it’s a four-day festival of equestrian culture.

Why This Event Matters
This is more than Scotland’s newest horse trials, it’s the successor to the famed Blair Castle International Horse Trials and is expected to draw over 25,000 visitors in its debut year.
Organisers are determined to continue Blair Castle’s legendary legacy and redefine Perthshire as a premier destination for equestrian sport.
