He was diagnosed with Proximal Suspensory Desmitis (PSD) in both hind legs in August 2013. The vets treated his PSD with steroid injections and used shockwave therapy, neither of which worked. The vet then advised for him to be de-nerved which only had a 30% chance of success of treating his PSD, as he has very upright hocks. The only other apparent option was to retire him.
He was put on ArcEquine’s 6-week injury treatment plan to treat his PSD, combined with a three month rehabilitation programme.
He was brought back into work in March 2014, still under rehabilitation. By September 2014 his PSD was no longer a problem and he was jumping again and competed locally during the winter.
