My horse was diagnosed with a flexor tendon tear at the insertion point in the hoof. She was in a plaster cast for 6 weeks with box rest, followed by walking rehab for 10 minutes twice a day. This walking rehab was built up to 1.5hrs daily to try and help the flexor tendon.

After 6 weeks we started ridden exercise in walk to replace the 1.5hr slot on the horse walker. We increased the intensity of walking, and then introduce increasing trotting before starting on increasing canter work, but she was still not turned out unless under sedation.

ArcEquine was used for a total of 11 weeks for the torn flexor tendon, in conjunction with the exercise rehab. She responded very well to the ArcEquine and was sound in walk once out of plaster. Her flexor tendon has remained sound to date.

She also had a lot of scar tissue from a previous injury on the same leg after a laceration to the tendon sheath. This was still tender, but after using the ArcEquine there has been noticeable breaking down of the scar tissue, and the area is no longer tender.
