Arc Equine was recommend to me by our dressage instructor when our TB/Cob had an DDFT injury, the vet told us it was as severe as it could get and Archie would be out of work for 12 months plus. I had a very long chat with Ian Thirkell and on the back of his advice we bought our first arc equine. Archie would prove not to be the easiest of patients as he is a live wire, however with continuing support from staff at arc we made it through to a scan recheck at approx. 6 months in, the vet could find no holes, and apart from the edges of the tendon needing to thicken up no scat tissue either. We had a small set back in the April where Archie went lame again but after 2 weeks was sound again since then we haven’t looked back, 9 months to the day he strutted down the centre line in his first dressage test and I think I probably held my breathe for most of it just incase the judge rang the bell to say he was actually a cripple 🙂
Nearly a year on Archie has started showjumping and we use the Arc Equine now on the maintenance program for him afterwards and we’ve had no further problems. I have also used the Arc Equine on our other pony Bryn for various issues- snake bite, hay fever and a ligament injury all of which were healed in half the usual time. I now add it into my care plan after discussion with the vet, who are always happy for me to go ahead.
