Breed: Irish Thoroughbred
In March 2014 vets diagnosed changes in his hock and suspensory ligaments, and a bursar on the side of his hock. The decision was made to keep him in for a week, bute twice a day, 1 week of box rest and then walking in hand only. The further scan showed chronic collapse of the suspensory apparatus in his hind legs and his left hock had a rupture to the superficial digital flexor tendon, which was held by two strands of tendon where it goes over the point of the hock. Vet”s prognosis was to put him to sleep.
Luckily, he started wearing ArcEquine daily using the injury treatment plan to help mend his ruptured hock and collapsed suspensory apparatus.
On the first day of using ArcEquine, he was so relaxed he laid down and let his owner lay with him, in the 10 years together he had never let this happen! The following day he went into the field like a different horse, after two days he was galloping around the field and rolling. As his hock and suspensory ligaments healed and his legs gradually changed shape and became smaller, he was much happier in himself. After 6 weeks of using ArcEquine, the scan showed that the hock and suspensory ligaments had healed! After 7 weeks he was off bute and sound.
