My horse is a 16.3hh Selle Francais mare called Charley age now 14 but I’ve had her since she was 4.
She sustained a back injury at the age of 6 in her field somehow and my vet diagnosed kissing spines with the help of x-rays etc so she underwent an operation on 3 of her spinal process. All went well and she returned to work but had an attitude shall we say!! She’s a bit of a feisty mare and very spoilt because of her operation. She was scanned to see if she was still in pain for any reason but everything seemed normal.
She would hack out and work in a school for about half an hour then throw a tantrum. She would be great on a hack then for no reason throw a wobbly. I go to Olympia show jumping every year and this year the Arcequine team were there. I’m a little sceptical about these things but I thought it was worth a try so I bought one. I started using it on the proper 6 week start programme and stuck to it every day going through the programmes as per instructions. After about 4 weeks I noticed that she had not thrown a wobbly for a week or so and that has continued. I am now on the number 4 programme which I do for 2 consecutive days every 2 weeks. I know you recommend every 4 weeks but I think she likes it every 2 weeks. She seems more relaxed and she’s a pleasure to ride now. I don’t know whether she was still in a little pain or just a stroppy mare but the unit seems to have just relaxed her brain!! It also seems to have made her coat shine a lot and her hooves in great condition, whether its just because it has relaxed her in her own skin!!
I have a 34inch mini shetland as well and at this time of the year even though he’s on no grazing he gets a little pottery on his feet so i’m going to start him on the programme you emailed me in a few days and i’ll let you know how it helps him. Although sceptical initially i think it’s a great product, it certainly has helped Charley. Thank you
