Wouldn’t it be nice if the NHS would fund an Arc unit for me!

I had one on hire for my horse. He had a whole host of complex problems. The Arc wasn’t able to help with many of them and I decided to send it back as I couldn’t afford to keep it unless it was really helping. But whilst I had it I was also using it on myself.

For years I have suffered with chronic knee pain. My GP had never really been concerned, prescribing me NSAID’s and referring me for a long course of physio, neither of which gave me any relief. I used the Arc and felt an improvement after 2 uses. Within the week I was pain free for the first time in years. After the Arc was returned, I remained pain free for a few months before the pain came back. Like many of us, I decided the cost of an Arc wasn’t worth it for myself, but if it helped my horse I would have happily spent it – silly really, but the horses always come first!

I have since seen a consultant and am now awaiting MRI scans on both knees at a cost significantly more than an Arc unit. I have no idea what they will find, but I hope that it is something that can be fixed so I can once again be pain free!

So if any of you riders have any injuries or even just little niggles, pop your Arc unit on – it certainly helped me.
