He was on box rest for 6 months and I used the 6 week programme first of all, then kept the setting on ‘level 3’ for 2 months after that, before restarting the 6 week course and repeating.

Jack had his first scan (confirmed tendon tear) 1st November 2021 and his second scan was January 2022. We could see very minimal healing but he was sound.

The following scan in March again showed minimal healing but he was so strong in walking. 4th scan in May showed some healing but he was trotting out (aged 21!!!) as sound as he had ever been even with all his other ailments (navicular, arthritis).

At this 6 month mark, we tried to turn him out but he kept escaping out his field so we bought him home where I used the arc on level 3 every 2nd or 3rd day.

Jacks prognosis was poor. He was 20 years old, had other ailments and I was told I would be lucky if he came back to hack.

Fast forward to January 2025 and Jack had his first season side saddling in 2023 and continued this into 2024.

End of 2024, he has come back to jump!!! I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever trot him again. Let alone side saddle or jump! Albeit it’s now 50cm show jumps not hedges out hunting anymore but we are happy with that.

I truly believe this little magic machine has helped him become stronger. He’s now 24 and sounder than ever. We use our machine 2 or 3 times a week now and I couldn’t be without it.

My vet is blown away as all we changed apart from the arc equine was putting a heart bar on that hoof for support more for his navicular to help with the tendon.

I scanned him in September last year and although the tendon still doesn’t look healthy (x rayed not MRI) – he is sound. I will continue with this machine for the rest of his life.

Submitted: 1st January 2025

I purchased my Arc Equine in November 2021 after my horse blew his superficial digital flexor tendon end of Oct.
