Universally, it is the energy exchange factor that connects anabolism and catabolism, and fuels cellular activities such as, motile contraction, phosphorylation&#8217;s, and active transport.<sup>(1)<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>The role of ATP in healing<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ATP is a critical component to aid the bodies healing process. Cellular energy is required (in the form of ATP) for every phase of healing and therefore a decrease in the availability of ATP negatively impacts every aspect of the healing process.<sup>(2)<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ATP is a versatile molecule that serves several essential functions within the body. In addition to being the primary source of cellular energy, it also acts as a coenzyme and plays a key role in cell signalling processes. <sup>(3)<\/sup> During wound healing, increased intracellular ATP availability can promote the recruitment of inflammatory cells and bone marrow-derived progenitor cells to the site of injury. It also encourages the production and release of cytokines and growth factors, which help attract additional cells involved in tissue repair. Together, these processes create a positive feedback mechanism that supports and enhances healing.<sup>(2)<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>What happens when ATP production is reduced?<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When ATP production is reduced, cellular function can become compromised, particularly in tissues with high energy demands such as muscles, the heart, and the nervous system. Mitochondrial dysfunction and the resulting decline in ATP availability have been associated with fatigue, reduced physical performance, and impaired recovery. <sup>(4, 5)<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>What is microcurrent therapy?<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Microcurrent therapy is a non-invasive treatment that delivers very low-level electrical currents, measured in microamperes (\u03bcA), to the body. I&#8217;m a nutritional therapist and was looking for a device which might help some of my more poorly clients. As I like to try everything I recommend out on myself first I bought the Arc and have been using it since February (4 months). I wasn&#8217;t sure if I would feel any difference as I am in good health. However, I have experienced an unexpected increase in&nbsp;energy! The device is very easy to use and I use the arm cuff which is comfortable, I rotate between wearing it on either arm &amp; either calf.
